Richard L. Rose, 56, of South Charleston, formerly of Sutton, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born February 11,1966 in Sutton to the late Pauline “ Polly” E. Albert Rose and Walter C. Rose.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Shaw; and brother in law, William “Bill Bill” Surwilo.

Richard was an honest hard worker who loved his family. He worked in sales all his life. He could sell condoms to a nun. He enjoyed all things outdoors. He loved his wife. Then his girls came, and he found true love. But he was at his best when he was a Poppy.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 33 years, Charlotte Surwilo Rose of South Charleston; two daughters, Kasey Rose of Charleston and Jennifer Rose and fiance, Josh Page, of Cross Lanes; two grandchildren, Emaleigh Page and Colton Page of Cross Lanes; also like a son, Adam Nelson, and daughter, Wednesday Nelson of Braxton County; and his younger sister, Mary Rose and son, Logan Rose; and many other loved ones.

Special thank you to Cheryl Bice, Andrea Adkins, Sarah Phoenix, Pete Thompson, and Mike Dupay all of Kanawha Hospice Care.
