Nichols, 94, of Frametown, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Clay Health Care Center, Ivydale, WV. He was born on March 22, 1932, in Dingy to the late Norman Perry Nicholas and Glenna Vaughan Nicholas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Santy Nichols; sister, Mary Lou Childress; sons, Roger Nichols, Alan Nichols, and Billy Nichols; and grandson, Jerry Morris. Dalton was an oil field driller for most of his life. He enjoyed raising a vegetable garden. Reading western novels was one his favorite pastimes. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Jarvis of Elmira, Anita Miller of Sutton, and Lisa Chenoweth and husband, Mitch, of Frametown; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Sue Thompson of Frametown, Vida Lea Nottingham of Duck; and several nieces and nephews.
