Graveside service will be 2 P.M. Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Jerushia Church Cemetery at the head of Sugar Creek with Reverend Robey Godfrey officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Hunter Lemon Memorial Scholarship Fund, People’s Bank, 3802 Sutton Lane, Sutton, WV 26601.

Harry Lee Lemon, 87, of Gassaway passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at WVU Medicine Braxton County Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Gassaway on the farm to the late James H. Lemon and Nellie G. Duffield Lemon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor Wood Lemon; his brother, Don Lemon; and his grandson, Hunter Lemon.

Harry was retired but in his lifetime he was a construction worker, long-time mail carrier and farmer.  He was known for helping his neighbors.  He enjoyed being outside doing farm work and spending time with his family.  He will be deeply missed.

He will be forever remembered by his sons, Dave Lemon and wife, Kerri, of Heaters, and Greg Lemon and wife, Susan, of Gassaway; daughter, Karen Callison (Craig) of Gassaway; grandchildren, Rob Callison, Mandy Post, Aaron Lemon, Brandon Lemon, Matthew Lemon, and Michael Lemon; brothers, Paul “Bus” Lemon of Gassaway, Ben Lemon of Frametown, and Carl “Dick” Lemon of Ohio; sisters, Jeanette Barath of Ohio, Carol Carr of Ohio, Joy Veard of Ohio, Sally Skidmore of Gassaway, and Linda Boggs of Ohio.  Harry is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
