Rebecca “Becky” Ann Evans Murphy, 64, of Gassaway, formerly of Salem, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

She was born on March 28, 1959, in West Virginia to the late Hayward Alden Chipps and Dortha Lee Evans Chipps.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randall Evans; and nephew, Randall “Raney” Evans.

Becky was homebody and enjoyed sitting on her porch. She liked to watch game shows on the television. When she was younger, she played a lot of card games with her family. She was an immaculate housekeeper. She loved her children and grandchildren and she will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Mahalia Hamner and husband, Robert Hamner, of Cutlip’s Fork and Amanda Marie Gaines and husband, Scott Allen Gaines, of Clarksburg; sister, Joyce Chipps of Salem; grandchildren, Laina Hamner, Chase Hamner, Shaine Gaines and wife, Lexus, Scotty Gaines and Miranda Gaines; and one great grandson, Sylas Gaines; and several nieces and nephews.

Becky will be cremated and no services will be held.
