Verner Goodrich, 82, of Rosedale, gained his heavenly wings on Monday, February 27, 2023.  He went home to be with his mom, Eula; his dad, Ray; brother, Van; sisters, Vonna Stuart and Vivian Carr; favorite uncle, Ross Goodrich; and beloved grandmother.

He worked as a timberman for 40+ years. All Verner’s daughters were special to him and it made his day when they would call or visit him.  He enjoyed sitting on the porch with his son, Rick, and his wife would bring them coffee to drink while they had father-son chats.  Verner enjoyed working with his son, Verner II, in the garage and teaching him how to fix motors.  His family and friends would often come to him for advice on how to fix their vehicles, deeming him “The Oracle”.  Hummingbird watching on his porch was his favorite pastime. Reading western books, watching westerns on the television and doing puzzle books in his man cave were also things he enjoyed.

Verner will be fondly remembered by his wife, Goldie, who he loved and cherished more than anyone in the world; sons, Rick Goodrich of Rosedale, Verner (Cindy) Goodrich II  of Rosedale; daughters, Verna (Bobby) Fredrick, of Glenville, Deanna Miller of Grantsville, Diane (Charles) Stump of Frametown, Dana Recknagle of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Nancy (Greg) Turner of Orangeburg, SC, and Vonnie Goodrich of Rosedale; granddaughter, who he helped raise and loved like a daughter, Kristin (James) Cottrill of Rosedale; great grandson and best buddy, Daniel Wyatt Cottrill of Rosedale; sisters, Vae Cayton of Lorrain, Ohio, Vera (Jim) Johnson of Frametown, Vada Knicely of Burnsville; longtime friend, Rodney Greenlief of Rosedale; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and neighbors who will remember Verner with love.

In keeping with Verner’s wishes there will be a graveside for him at 1 P.M. Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Rosedale Community Cemetery with Elder Larry Fisher officiating.
