Ronnie David McCraw, Sr., 66, of Gassaway, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, WV due to a long illness.

He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on July 8, 1956 to the late Fred Lee and Wanda Jane Stump McCraw.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred Lee “Joe” McCraw, Jr., Winifred “Butch” McCraw, Jimmy Ray McCraw, and Jackie Lee McCraw; and two sisters, Nancy Shaw and Mary Sue Weese.

Ronnie truly enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling on the television. His hobbies included camping and fishing. He enjoyed walking his two dogs in downtown Gassaway. A fun day for him was spending time with his grandchildren teaching them to cook. He loved his family and he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his two sons, Ronnie McCraw, Jr and boyfriend, Sherman Knight of Crown Hill, WV and Bobby McCraw and wife, Kassandra, of Summersville; sister, Linda Hensley and husband, David, of Gassaway; six grandchildren, Trinity Fry, Ayla Fry, Ruby Dename-McCraw, Kayden McCraw, Carl Cooper and Bobby McCraw, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held for him at a later date.
