Roy Lee Knight Sr, 66, of Clarksburg, WV passed away in his home on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

He was born February 8, 1956 in Sutton, WV. Roy became a painter at 16 years old and spent the next 45 years perfecting his trade. He spent 20 years working with his son, who he passed down his craftsmanship.

Roy was preceded in death by his father, William “Sunny” Knight; mother, Virginia May Utt Grillbortzer, and sister, Violet Marie Knight Miller. He is survived by his long time partner and caretaker, Ruth Bonner of Clarksburg, West Virginia; son, Roy Knight Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Manassas, Virginia; three daughters, Jeanine Ruppel and husband, Keith, of Haymarket, Virginia, Lisa Haney of Orlando, Florida, and Amanda Kapps and husband, Alex, of Palouse, Washington; son, Kenneth Knight and wife, Ericka, of Rockledge, Florida; brother, William Knight of Martinsburg, West Virginia and sisters, Ellen Baldwin of Alexandria, Virginia, Patricia Knight of North Point, Florida and Lisa Billings of Manassas, Virginia. Roy is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later day.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.
