Ellen Isophene “Icie” Moyers Mitchell, 91, of Frametown, went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 26, 2022.

She was born on October 10, 1930 in Sutton to the late Dennis and Glenna Ramsey Moyers.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Ellen Louise Mitchell; three brothers, Charles Richard Moyers, Dennis Glen Moyers, and infant brother, Robert Lynn Moyers; as well as one sister, Helen Louise Moyers Connolly.

Ellen attended Marshall University for two years. Following this she taught grade school at Belfont for two years and worked as a teacher’s aide at Wilsie Elementary. She also worked for the Department of Highways before settling into her career as a child advocate for the State of WV, for which she retired after 27 years.

Ellen’s friends and family will miss her loving, positive spirit and her quick wit, but the love and kindness she shared with others will live on forever.

She will be forever remembered by her son, Steven Hugh Mitchell of Wilsie; her brother, William “Bill” Wirt Moyers and wife, Susan, of Seminole, Florida; sister, Marilyn Moyers Gillenwater and husband, Terry of Fishers, Indiana; two granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
