Gary’s funeral will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Frametown United Methodist Church with Reverend Johnny Conrad officiating. Interment with full military rites will be in the Gray Family Cemetery, Duck.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2022 Gary Lewis Gray, 74, of Frametown, passed away peacefully with his family at his side.

He was born on October 25, 1947 in Sutton to the late Wilmer A. and Ethel Payne Gray.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Oleta Gray and brother, Kenneth Gray.

John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Around 56 years ago, Gary laid down his life for this nation in Vietnam in the United State Army. Incurring massive brain loss and a body riddled with shrapnel, never expected to be able to survive his injuries, God stepped in and blew that precious breathe back into his injured body. Through prayers and the love of his mother and father he was nursed back to life and relearned to walk, talk and do the basic life skills. With some recovery he suffered through his traumatic brain injury and was able to live for 56 more precious years. His family was honored to spend time with him at home while hospice took care of him. Gary and his family also were also have one last bible study and service together the night he died. Gary, even in his condition, never failed to testify to God’s greatness. Gary had no worries or troubles. He also had many, many friends that knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Carl Gray (Brenda) of Akron, Ohio; sister-in-law, Judy Gray, of Duck; nephews, Dennis Gray (Pat) of Waynesville, North Carolina; Gary Roger Gray (Stephanie) of Duck, Keith Gray (Claire) of Duck, Jeff Gray (Lisa) of Akron, Ohio; niece, DeAnn Pillitere (Bobby) of Schertz, Texas; many great nephews and a great niece. He is also survived by several great great nephews and nieces.
