Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Sunday, May 28, 2022 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Reverend Johnny Conrad officiating with Military Rites at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

James Lee Mitchell, 77, of Frametown passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at his home.

He was born August 13, 1944 in Belfont to the late Fletcher and Blanche Hughes Mitchell.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Shepherd Claar; brothers, Dennis and Eugene Mitchell; and sisters, Lula Mitchell, Gertrude Shaw, Edna Hawkins, and Nellie Stickley.

James was a United States Army Vietnam veteran who served in the 196th Light Infantry. In his earlier years he enjoyed CB radio and his CB handle was “Sledtrack”. He liked to hunt, fish, and work on old cars. He went to many auctions and was fond of viewing the Trader’s Guide. James was a Cincinnati Reds fan and you could find him watching the games with his grandson, Jacob. He enjoyed being husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed.

James will be forever remembered by his wife, Treva Jarvis Mitchell; sons, James L. Mitchell, Jr. and girlfriend, Andrea Engel, of Frametown, and Lennie Shepherd and wife, Wendy, of Atwater, Ohio; four grandsons; and 1 granddaughter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
