He was born March 19, 1944 in Braxton County to the late Robert Lee and Mary Louise Wood Carr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Weathern. Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who adored the company of his family. He never missed an opportunity to cheer on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He was an avid outdoorsman. He retired from the City of Charleston, where he served as Public Works Director. He was a Baptist by faith. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Boggs Carr; sister Marsha Downs (Chuck); son, Matthew (Gina); daughter, Amy Taylor; and grandchildren, Morgan Perry (Hunter), Dylan Carr, Cody Taylor, and Kaitlyn Carr.
