Her funeral service will be 2 P.M. Monday, December 6, 2021 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Ray Teets officiating.

Friends may call two hours prior at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.

Linda F. singleton, 73, a lifelong resident of Frametown, WV passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 after a brief illness.

She was born November 11, 1948 in Braxton County, a daughter of the late Okey James and Goldie Marie Friend James.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Violet M. James and stepson, Jimmy Singleton.

She was a homemaker, devoted wife, and mother.  She was a Methodist by faith. Linda was a 1966 graduate of Gassaway High School.  In her younger years she was employed by Kinney Shoe Company until its closing in the area.  She attended Dessie Grade School, where she always enjoyed attending the annual reunions and seeing lifelong friends.  She took pride in tending to her garden and planting and caring for her various flowers around the house.  Her favorite flowers were her roses.

Linda’s memory will always be cherished by her husband of 53 years, James A. Singleton “Archie”; her nephew, Gavin S James, which she raised as her son since birth; brothers, Forrest O. James, Roger N. James (Debbie), and Richard P. James; sister, Velma A. James; stepson, Michael Singleton (Linna); and nieces and nephews.
