Rickey D. McCumbers, 65, of Sutton departed this world on Saturday, November 13, 2021.

He was a native of Braxton County, WV, born the youngest son of the late Mary E. (Starcher) and Noah S. McCumbers on September 2, 1956.

In addition to his parents, Rickey was preceded in death by brothers, Willard, Donald, Bill, Darryl, Charles, Gene, William, Robert; and sister, Wilma Pearl.

He enjoyed helping others, putting others needs above his own. He had a natural green thumb. His florist skills were only matched in life by his love of nature and hunting.

Rickey is survived by his son John D. McCumbers and wife, Leslie; and three grandchildren, Evan, Elizabeth and Bentley; daughter, Beckie E. Meredith (McCumbers) and husband, Geoffrey Meredith; sister, Betty; brothers, Roy, Gary, Paul and Clarence.

We love and miss you Dad, rest easy for the soul is eternal and lives on after physical death.

Visitation will be 10 to 12 Noon Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV.

Funeral will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home.

In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated after his services.
