Barbara Ellen Cabaniss, 77, of Goodview, VA, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born October 7, 1944 in Braxton County, WV to the late Roy and Nina Barker Utt.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Timmy Wilson; brother, Junior Utt; sisters, Carol Hamric, Betty Utt, and Jenny Grilborker.

Barbara retired as an office manager at Vistar Eye Care Center in Roanoke, VA.  Her family was most important to her.  She was an animal lover and rescued pets.  Barbara loved to craft, sew and crochet and she could make something out of anything.  She enjoyed the outdoors in her flower and vegetable gardens.  She loved to can, cook and bake.  Barbara was a Christian by faith.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 39 years, Lynn Cabaniss; son, Jim Wilson and wife, Tammy, of Sutton; stepson, Stephen Cabaniss and wife, Ellen, of Roanoke, VA; daughter, Pam Blankbaker and husband, David, of Martinsburg, WV; and stepdaughter, Michelle Cabaniss of Roanoke, VA; brothers, Bucky Utt and wife, Wanda, of Sutton and Henry Utt of Sutton; sisters Pauline Ferrell and husband, Gary, of Wheeling, WV, and Evelyn Chaffins of Sutton.  Barbara is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; dog, Bear; and cat, Pretty Boy.

Funeral service will be 1 P.M. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway, WV with Pastor Russel Shaw officiating.  Friends may visit two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
