She was born January 24, 1938 in Braxton County to the late Don and Irene Hall Bias. For many years Joan was a news reporter and wrote for the Braxton Democrat. She was also the Recorder for the town of Sutton. Joan loved her cats. Anyone that was acquainted with Joan knew she was a good hearted person. She is survived by several cousins.
