With profound sadness we announce the passing of Darlene Lynn Isenhart, our loving and devoted wife, mother and friend to all whose lives she touched.

She left us peacefully at her residence in Cedarville, WV on September 9, 2021.  She was in her 65th year.

Darlene was born October 7, 1955 in Braxton County to the late George Willis Grounds, Sr. and Emyl Lee Ellis Shields.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dottie Williamson; aunt, Marlene Hunter; and grandmother, Faye Workman.

She enjoyed her life and wanted to thank some of those who made that possible.  Topping the list is family and close survivors, the most important, her husband, Roy, her knight in shining armor.

Darlene was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost.  She treasured her husband, children and especially loved being grandma.  She embraced every moment with them all.  She lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandma.  She loved to cook and care for everyone in her presence.  She was strong, determined and a fiercely independent woman and we all will miss her every day.

She will be forever remembered by her husband of 24 years, Roy Isenhart of Cedarville; children, Debi and fiancé, Ron Leggett of Burnsville, Melvin Conner and wife, Lori, of Shock, Melissa Bennett and fiancé, Josh Ramsey, of Glenville (and her children, Rachelle Bennett, Jalynn, Seth and Caleb Robinson), Whitney Scott of Glenville, Daniel Conner of Cedarville, Alissa Isenhart of Hacker Valley, EmmaLee Isenhart of Parkersburg, and Lee Isenhart of Cedarville; brothers, George Grounds, and James “Pete” Grounds; sisters, Barbara Phares (David), Sandra Smith (Lonzo), and Bonnie Barnett.  She is also survived by several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Please join us celebrating her life from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV.

Her funeral service will be 11 A.M. Monday, September 13th at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Harper officiating.

Interment will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.
