April 30, 1960 - September 3, 2021

Due to Covid 19 there will be private family services with Reverend Robert A. Moore and Pastor Donnie Stout officiating.  Interment will be in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens, Heaters.

Raymond will be greatly missed by all family and a number of great friends.

Raymond Earl Squires, 61, of Flatwoods, WV went home to be with the Lord on September 3rd, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born on April 30, 1960.

During his time in school, he belonged to the Heaters, WV Boy Scout Troop #194, completed several trips to Canada, and earned the honor of Eagle Scout. He belonged to the NTL Boilermakers Local 667 Chapter and welded for various companies during his 32 year career. He loved to hunt and occasionally go fishing during his spare time as well as working around the house, repairing vehicles, and enjoying some quality family time. After his retirement from the Boilermakers in 2015, he found his love for rifle target shooting and joined the Ultimate Bench Rest competition club, attending several matches and bringing home several placement plaques.

He is preceded in death by his father, John R. Squires; daughter, Marion Elizabeth Squires; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Amanda Squires; maternal grandparents, Earl and Bertha Brown; mother-in-law, Mary E. Hobbs; father-in-law, Carlton Hobbs, and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Squires, of Flatwoods, WV; son, John C. Squires of Morgantown, WV; mother, Marion Long of Frametown, WV; brother, Andrew Long; sister-in-law, Christina Long; nephews, Jacob and Colton Long, all of Heaters, WV; sister, Ramona Bosely; brother-in-law, Gerald Bosely; nieces, Ann Bosely (Manteo, NC), Ceccelia Bosely; nephew, Josiah Bosely (Manteo, NC) of Falls Mills, WV; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Brent Holmes of Fairmont, WV; niece, Amanda Biesczad and husband, Jamey, and great niece, Isabella, all of Fairmont, WV; sister-in-law, Mary J. Hobbs of Gassaway, WV; and great nieces, Mae Lowther, Ivy Riffle; and great nephew Jaden Lowther, all of Manteo, NC.
