Our precious mother and granny, Zona “Oleta” Lough, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

She was reunited with the love of her life, Cecil, along with her daughter, Shirley Barnette; son-in-laws, Fred Barnette, Phillip Teasley, and Samuel Facemire. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Frances Laird.

She leaves behind her sister, Lettie, of Charleston, WV; daughter, Helen Jarvis (Terry) of Spring City, TN; daughter, Charlotte Teasley; daughter, Alice Facemire; and son, Junior (Barbara) Lough, all of Sutton. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many others who lovingly called her Granny.

She was born April 30th, 1923, in Ritchie County, WV. She was a hard worker who put her heart and soul into whatever she was doing. She raised a loving family, kept a beautiful garden for many years, made dozens upon dozens of beautiful quilts, and always had room at her table for anyone who stopped by for supper. She was a woman of faith who truly exemplified Christ’s love for others. She had a kind heart, a smile that lit up the room, and a sweet laugh we will all miss dearly. When the flowers dance in the breeze, when the spring peepers sing their song, when we pull a handmade quilt around us snug, that’s when we’ll think of you.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.

Private family services will be held with Pastor Robey Godfrey officiating. Facemasks kindly requested.

Interment will be in the Otter Hill Cemetery, Gassaway.
