Funeral Service will be 2 P.M. Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Reverend Bob Paintiff officiating.  Interment will follow at Mitchell Cemetery at Belfont.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Herbert G. “Jimmie” Mitchell, 86, of Frametown, passed away of a sudden illness at Braxton County Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 13, 2021.

He was born November 1, 1934 in Cowen to the late Herbert and Dessie Wright Mitchell.

Jimmie was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting and fishing.  In his life he was a pipeliner, construction worker, cattle farmer and a logger.  He served his country as a United States Marine Corp Veteran and was a past member of Gassaway Masonic Lodge #133.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his only brother, Hugh Mitchell.

Jimmie will be forever remembered by his wife of 63 years that he married on January 1, 1958, Wanda Moyers Mitchell; children, James David Mitchell, Richard Mitchell and wife, Angela, and Donna Parsons and husband, Rick; granddaughter, Kristi Barker and husband, Rusty; grandson, Kraden Mitchell; one nephew, Steve Mitchell.  He is survived by numerous cousins too many to list.  Jimmie’s miniature schnauzer, Gracie Ann, who he was fond of, also survives him.
