I met Betty at Hallmark. She was one of the sweetest kindest people that I have had the pleasure of knowing.

Philippians 1:21-27 New International Version (NIV) For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far! My prayers and thoughts are with you. As hard as it is not to sorrow, we all know Betty is singing in her Heavenly Choir and is well beloved of God. She is rejoicing in the company of family she hasn't seen in years. How wonderful to be greeted as a faithful servant.

In a family with so many loud personalities Betty was quiet. In a world of Christians her lustrous light shined brilliantly. Her faith was fully mature. She expressed joy at the fortune of others, support in times of loss, and hope in times of defeat. She expressed pride in the accomplishments of her family and I never heard her say a derogatory word about anyone. Her character was resolute. Tested by adversity and time she was honest, loyal, truthful, discrete, modest, forgiving and disciplined. Many are called, Betty is one of the lucky few to be chosen. I am a disciple of Christ. Betty was an apostle.
