Virginia Mae “Sissy” Hamner, 69, of Sutton passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Braxton Health Care Center, Sutton.

She was born in Ohio on June 8, 1954, to the late Leonard Jack Hamner and Lenora Virginia Perry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill “Punk” Hamner who died January 3, 2023.

Sissy was a homemaker who raised her son. She enjoyed playing BINGO and watching the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles football on the television. She also liked to ride around in the outdoors looking for deer. She enjoyed keeping her lawn kept up.

She will be forever remembered by her long-time companion, Sam Jackson of Sutton; son, Allen Leonard Jackson of Little Birch; sister, Evelyn Luzader and husband, Randy, of Flatwoods; half-brothers, Ronnie and Randy Morris of Florida; niece, Julie Lambert; nephew, Bryon Luzader and wife, Melanie of Weston, great nephews, Percy and J.D.; aunt, Alice Williams of Gassaway; aunt, Peggy Hamner of Newville; cousin, Barb King and husband, Gary, of Gassaway; and several other cousins.

Sissy will have a private interment in Newville Cemetery.
