Sylvia Marie Allen, 86, of Heaters passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at WVU Medicine Braxton County Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born at home in Heaters on January 18, 1937.

She was preceded in death by her adopted parents Wade Allen and Marie Conrad Allen.

Sylvia had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed her life and her family. She was a thoughtful and grateful person. She was a Christian by faith. She enjoyed listening to bluegrass, country and gospel music. Her favorite pastime was doing Word Search Puzzles. She was devoted to watching the news anchor on Channel 13, Bryan Hughes. As a true fan, she would get up at 4:30 A.M. every day just to hear him forecast the weather. She retired from Giant Foods as a Pharmacy Technician with 30 years of service. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish memories are her daughter, Debbie Jarvis and husband, Robert, of Gassaway, and close friends, Rose and Shirley.

Her family would like to give special thanks to Braxton County Memorial Hospital, the West Virginia Caring (Hospice) Nurse, and to Central WV Aging for sending their compassionate caregiver, Leslie, whom Sylvia loved dearly.
