Chad E. Martin, 48, of Sutton, West Virginia passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at home.

He was born on September 12, 1975, in Bellaire, Ohio.

Preceding Chad in death were his maternal grandfather, Larry Biddle and paternal grandparents, Betty and Ralph Martin.

Chad loved spending time with his three children. He would always watch his children play sports when they were younger. On Saturdays, he enjoyed watching college football and he was an avid Ohio State Football fan. The Walking Dead was his favorite show to watch on television along with the Disney Channel. Chad worked at Belmont Correctional Facility for 17 years as a correctional officer. His most recent employment was at Central West Virginia Regional Jail in Sutton near where he resided. He will be missed by his family and his dog, Caesar.

He will be forever remembered by his sons, Daniel Jock of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Andrew Martin of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Sydney Martin of Washington Court House, Ohio; mother, Cheryl Klopfer (Paul) of Lewis Center, Ohio; father, Greg Martin (Nora) of Newton, WV; brother, William Hall (Diamond) of Sutton, WV; maternal grandmother, Carrie Biddle of St. Clairsville, Ohio; mother of his children, Mandy Jo Bandy of Washington Court House, Ohio; uncles, Greg Pyles, Gordon Pyles (Maggie) and Geoff Pyles (Donna) all of Martins Ferry, Ohio; aunts, Carolyn McDermott (Jack) of Wheeling, WV, Cindi Staats (Joe) of Dillonvale, Ohio and Darla Schneider (Carl) of Triadelphia, WV; and several cousins.

Chad will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
