Maria Sue Cutlip, 56, of Exchange passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2023, at WV Caring Hospice Center, Elkins.

She was born on May 18, 1967, in Gassaway to the late Lowell and Sue Cutlip.

Maria loved walking the roads of Exchange with the family dogs. She was a lover of animals and flower gardening. Vacationing with family at several beaches in North Carolina was one of her favorite pastimes. She enjoyed visiting with her aunts, uncles and cousins. She liked to wear bright fun clothes and earrings. Maria was a homemaker, caretaker and a political poll worker. She was a lifelong member and church secretary at Cutlip’s Baptist Church of Exchange. She graduated from Braxton County High School in 1987.

Left to cherish her memories are her siblings, George S. Cutlip, Carla (Bill) Nelson, Eric (Amy) Cutlip, Mark Cutlip and Lowell J. Cutlip; nieces and nephews, Samantha and Fox Nelson, Mason, Daulton and Ryan Cutlip, Reese Cutlip and Austin Holmes, and Ethan Nicholas, Tyler and Emma Cutlip. She is also survived by her special aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Maria’s funeral will be 1 P.M. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Reverend Linn Schiefer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Cutlip Cemetery, Exchange.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Maria was a big fan of color so the family requests that friends and family wear bright and fun clothes.
