Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Kathlyn Singleton Campbell Duckworth known as Biddie, age 96, went to join God’s singers at home at Gassaway, WV on September 30, 2020. Born on April 10, 1924 to Linzy Dow and Mamie Allen Singleton of Heaters, WV whom proceeded her in death. She was the youngest child of nine and the last survivor of the family. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Delos, Percy, Dale, Richard, Clifford, Basil, Randall and Marie Singleton. She married Hale Campbell on October 9, 1945 and spent 50 years on the farm at Exchange before moving to Gassaway. Hale died in 1996. They had two daughters, Sandra Kay Firth of Mt. Clare, WV and Brenda Gray and Carl of Akron, OH; one foster son, David Cutlip of Clarksburg, WV; four grandchildren, Jeff Gray, Deanna Gray Pillitiere, John Firth, and Cody Cutlip; 8 great grandchildren, Amanda Gray, Andrew Pillitiere, Brandon, Daniel, Shayne, Harmony, Joshua, and William Firth; one great-great grandson, Jaycen Gray; and several nieces and nephews. On August 23, 2003 Biddie and Marion “Monk” Duckworth were married. They had 17 loving years together at their Gassaway, WV residence. Douglas Duckworth became her son and Opal Fox Duckworth and Aaden and Maverick soon followed. She has several other stepchildren and families. Biddie was known by many for her singing with Campbell Trio, Cedar Creek Tour and Heaven Echoes and sang a short time with others. She was known for her guitar and piano playing. She had many other talents such as cake decorating, painting, quilting, crocheting, doing food preparation for dinners and shutins, and making popcorn balls. She was an active member of Gassaway Order of Eastern Star holding various offices including Worthy Matron. She assisted in re-opening Cutlipsville United Methodist Church 70 years ago and was faithful in the many ministries of church and attended faithfully at most services until two weeks ago. She loved God and visited many churches. She loved people and touched many lives. She requested no services. She shall be cremated with a burial of her cremains at Rock Cave Cemetery.
