Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV with Rev. Freddy Schoolcraft and Rusty Nottingham officiating. Interment with full Military Rites will be in the Strange Creek Cemetery, Strange Creek, WV.

Visitation will be from noon till time of service at the funeral home.

Charley Ferrell Nottingham, 87, of Strange Creek, WV went home to be with the Lord August 26, 2020.

He was born May 10, 1933 in Strange Creek, WV to the late Charley and Vera Nottingham.

He married his loving wife, Barbara Jean in1953 and they made their home in Garrettsville, Ohio where they remained until he retired from Republic Steel / LTV in 1985.  They then moved back to WV and lived in the house that he built for them.  He was a devout Christian who loved and enjoyed serving the Lord.  He also loved and cherished spending time with his family.  He was a man of many talents including carpentry, painting cars and his favorite, playing his banjo, his fiddle and his harmonica.  He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War. Charley was a simple man with a big heart.  He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Sheila Bays (Bill) of Warren, OH, Ferrell Nottingham (Leslie) of Warren, OH, Linda Bowser (Greg) of Ravenna, OH, Lisa Davenport (Joe) of Strange Creek, WV and Russell Nottingham (Jeri) of Akron, OH; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren; also his siblings, Bertha Sirk of WV, Brantie Nottingham of WV, Laura Harold of GA and Lona Sanders of OH.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Densyl; his parents, Charley and Vera; siblings, Mae, Fred, Mable, Marie, Mamie, Johnny and Danna.
