Dale E. Hartley, 86, of Flatwoods, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Holbrook Healthcare Center, Buckhannon, WV.

He was born on March 26, 1940, to the late Coy and Blanche Street Hartley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Hartley.

Dale treasured being a grandfather and great-grandfather. Throughout his life, he held several jobs, including serving as a Field Superintendent in the oil fields. He enjoyed family vacations, farming, spending time outdoors, running machinery equipment and tinkering. Cooking, baking and traveling with his wife were among his favorite pastimes before her passing. Dale also loved gas-station honey buns, and pigs were his favorite animal. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Michael Hartley (Lavannia) of New Philly, Ohio; daughter, Marsha Hacker (Gary) of Gassaway; grandchildren, Miranda Grayley (Roy), Allisan Woods, Jessica Simons (Thorn), Monica Wolford, Leanna Blankenship (Bud), McKayla Hill (Kevin); great grandchildren, Owen, Addelyne, Vera, Nova, Taylor, Logan, Levi, Mason, Jody, Alex, Nova Kaye, and, Caroline; great great grandchildren, Rhett, Presley, and Ruger; sisters, Dorothy Epling, and Linda Hamric (Boyd); brother, Charles Hartley; and several nieces and nephews.

Dale’s funeral will be 2 P.M. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway, WV with Pastor Mark Stump officiating.

His visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway beside his wife.
