The first time I met Fred, he challenged me to a bicycle race. I had a Huffy, he had a Schwinn 3 speed. We went from his dad's gas station, past the ball field and stock yards and came out by Pletcher's Pontiac back to the gas station. It wasn't even a close race when he would stop to let me catch up. That was the first lesson I learned from my friend, who taught me more about mechanics and fast cars than I could ever remember. But the memories of Fred will always be there.

What a WONDERFUL man Fred was. We were truly blessed to have know Fred. We loved and admired him for the person he was. Honest and hard working.
