I’m watching John’s funeral on tv, heartbroken for his family. I lost a 19 year old son in a car accident in 2014. Seems that the good do die too young. I’m a body shop owner, a power stroke owner and a retired derby driver. He seemed like my kind of kid. I will pray for comfort for the family and also be sending a donation to his fire department. Good Bless

I DID NOT KNOW YOUR SON, FIANCE, DADDY, GRANDSON, FRIEND, NEPHEW, COUSIN, UNCLE, AND LASTSLY YOUR/OUR HERO BUT THIS STORY BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES. JOHN IS THE SAME AGE AS ONE OF MY SON'S AND I CANNNOT EVEN IMAGINE LOSING ONE OF MY BOYS BUT I DO KNOW THAT NO MATTER HOW HARD THAT WOULD BE IN THE SAME BREATH, AS PAINFUL AS IT WOULD BE TO KNOW HE IS GONE, FOR JUST A AWILE, MY HEART WOULD ALSO BE SO VERY, VERY PROUD AND HONORED TO HAVE SUCH A SELFLESS, LOVING SON TO GIVE HIS LIFE FOR ANOTHER AND I ONLY PRAY THAT I TOO HAVE RAISED MY BOYS AS SUCH, I BELIEVE I HAVE, I PRAY THAT I HAVE. I PRAY FOR THE LORD TO HOLD THE FAMILY AND GIVE YOU ALL THE STRENGTH THAT YOU ALL NEED AT THIS TIME AND I KNOW THAT HE HAS TOUCHED SOOO MANY PEOPLES LIVES, HE IS TRULY A HERO IN MY EYES, GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES IN THIS TIME OF NEED. I'LL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS.

I remember John (and William) when they were kids in Rochester, Ohio. John always had a smile on his face and waved every time I drove by their house. He was mature beyond his years and took care of his little brother. Condolences to his family.

My prayers for his family and close friends. May God comfort them in their grief in the days to come. But also knowing he is an Angel in heaven and will always be watching over his loved ones here on earth.
