Steve, I was so saddened when I found out you had passed. I first remember you from Gassaway High when I was a clumsy 7th grader and I knew then that you were a kind and caring person who always wore a smile and carried a kind word to anyone you met, including clumsy kids. I was not wrong because you kept that persona always, throughout my children's school days, my exchange student's school experiences, and thousands of others you passed both young and old. I am confident that your Creator knows far beyond humans so no doubt, that you will hear your name called when those memorial tombs are opened. (John 5:28) Rest sweetly until then, Steve.

Dear John, We are so sorry about your loss. Remember the words of John in Revelation 21:4. " And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. " Love and prayers, Mark and Vicki Stewart

We are so sorry for your loss. Steve was such a creative person, he always had projects going. We will miss his wonderful bass voice in choir. He was such a caring and compassionate person.

I'm very saddened by the news of "Trainer's" passing. I am grateful for all of the time I was blessed to get to spend with him in art class. He was truly a great man. He was kind and generous and loving. He was a family friend and I will never forget the times he was there for me when my grandmother passed over Christmas break in my sophomore year. He always gave the best hugs and he knew how to make people smile. I'm glad that I knew him and I am sending my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his family.

Oh how I loved Steve Beane. He was always one of my favorite “people”. He was truly a good person to all especially his family but even more important to the young people of Braxton County. Some needed him more than others but he gave 100% to all. He will surely be missed by all that he came into contact with. I thank him for the kindness and love he showed me. You are truly one of Gods angels.

I am saddened to hear of Steve's passing and my prayers are with your family as you mourn his loss. The Beanes had a special place in my family's affections for my entire childhood: I have many happy memories of Price Beane's grocery store, and the hospitality he and Mary extended to my parents, Lynn and Rosemond Worley, during my childhood. Mom was always interested in Steve's development as an art teacher, of course, since the arts were so close to her heart. I was deeply grateful for Steve's friendship with mom during both their teaching careers, and for the affection and respect he showed to her and dad's memories when we were dealing with their funeral and memorial arrangements in the 1990s. He was a true friend. May he rest in peace and rise in light.

Trainer helped me to learn to look for the potential in people. I was never the best runner he had on the team, but he let me know that effort counts. He once said something like, "you look for what or who people can be and help them achieve it if you can." That is not the exact words I am sure, but I have carried that message, and though I sometimes fail, I try to use it to help me be a better person, husband, father, son, friend and leader. Trainer Beane, you were a good guy and a positive influence on so many young people.
