Frank’s funeral will be held 1 P.M. Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV with Pastor Brace Cook officiating.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Hosey Cemetery, Trace Run, Exchange.

Frank A. Belknap, 80, of Gassaway passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 28, 2024.

He was born on March 12, 1944, the 7th of 13 children to the late Donnie and Juanita Rockhold Belknap.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson Frankie Ray Belknap; sisters, Mary Norman, Vera Norman, and Wilma Belknap; infant sister, Burgess Belknap; and brothers, Carlin Belknap, Denzil Belknap, Wendell Belknap and Denver Belknap.

Frank loved getting outside and running his tractor, operating the sawmill, working in his garage, driving trucks and just tinkering on the farm. He had expertise in running any equipment. He was well loved by the community and worked for the Department of Highways for 30 plus years holding many job titles, working up to Supervisor for the last 10 years. He retired to farm life. Frank was an honest, hardworking man that would help out anyone in need. He loved sharing peanut butter crackers and sneaking food to his faithful dog, Bandit.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 13 years, Tina Getrost Belknap; sons, Frankie Dorn (Gloria) Belknap and Scott (Christy) Belknap all of Gassaway; daughters, Sue (Tommy) Starcher of Sutton, Tina (David) Byrd of Buckhannon, and Staci (Darla) Belknap of Caldonia, Wisconsin; brothers, Russel (Linda) Belknap of Weston, Wade (Helen) Belknap of Gassaway, and Wes (Lori) Belknap of Gassaway; and sister, Kathy Hall of Zanesville, Ohio. He is survived by nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
