A gathering of family and friends will be from 3 to 4 P.M. Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway.

His Celebration of Life Service will follow at 4 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Rich Demastus officiating.

After his service a dinner will follow at Hope Baptist Church, Frametown and all are welcome.

Inurnment will be in the Perry H. James Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, call 1-800-272-3900 or donate online at act.alz.org.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at BCMH, Central WV Aging Services, Braxton County Senior Citizens Center, and Clay Health Care Center.

Norman Lee Frame, 93, of Frametown passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Clay Healthcare Center.

He was born in Stumbo on February 22, 1931, to the late Chaney and Lottie Frame.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, of 16 years on June 23rd of this year Barbara F. Wallace Drake Frame; daughter, Stephanie Frame and husband, Steve Creasey; sons, Scott Frame and Brian Frame and partner, Susan Garner; grandchildren, Jason Frame, Leah Frame, and Brianna Frame and husband, John Rispoli; great grandchildren, Hazel Frame, Jayla Messick, Lucian Rispoli and Rosalyn Rispoli; stepchildren, Dorothy McGranor, Shelly Bunch, Carson Drake and Eric Drake, 15 step grandchildren; and 22 step great grandchildren; only living sister, Judy Slaughter of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 17 siblings and his first wife, Sharon Frame; and stepdaughter, Lindy Drake.

Norman was born at his home. His parents lived on a farm and Norman learned the farming way taking care of everything that needed attention. He graduated from Gassaway High School. After high school he worked and learned how to build furniture. His next step was to serve in the United States Marine Corp. While in the service he made parachutes and had his wings for jumping. He was stationed in Camp LeJune, SC, Florida and New Jersey. He medaled for his service in the Korean War and left the Corp as a Corporal. He came home and began working. He operated Sharon’s Grocery on Wilsie Road and the greenhouse beside the store. His work ethic was wonderful throughout his life as he also was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He enjoyed hunting in his spare time. Norman was instrumental in getting Frametown Fire Department started and was once Captain. He had many friends that were like family to him. He also loved and was very close to his family and community and he will be deeply missed.
