Melissa J. Cummings-Salisbury, 60, of Ivydale went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She was at home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 26, 1964, in Oregon to the late Eugene Keiffer and Betty Jane Young Wright.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, David Thomas, Johnny Sitzer, Dough Sitzer, and Mike Sitzer.

Melissa was full of life and had a good sense of humor. She loved kidding around and socializing with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her world. The Kansas City Chiefs Football Team was her favorite team, and she enjoyed watching them on the television and in person in the stadiums. She enjoyed hiking in WV State Parks and going to the beach with her family. She and her husband enjoyed spending time together riding their 4-wheeler and watching hummingbirds. She also recently started kayaking on the Elk River. Melissa had 23 years of service as a medical coder for CAMC. She was a graduate from West Virginia Junior College. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Mark Salisbury; son, Joseph Cummings of Ivydale; daughter, Jessica (Jason) Welch of Frametown; grandchildren, Leighvi Cummings, Ashton Cummings, Merissa Welch, and Riley Welch; brothers, Eugene (Cynthia) Marling and Frankie Adkins; sisters, Patricia Green, and Peggy (Brian) White; and several nieces and nephews.
