Harold Ransom Moore, 92, of Chapel, went home to meet his Lord and Savior, on Friday, June 28, 2024.

He was born on May 24, 1932, to the late Bessie Long Moore and Roland Durwood (R.D.) Moore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Tonkin Moore; daughter, Mary Susan Moore; grandson, Michael Dale Moore; granddaughter, Desiaree Moore; great grandson, Dusty William Mohr; and brother, Glen Moore.

Harold was a proud Army Veteran, who served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Rommetsch Church and later attended the Old German Community Church. Harold was known by his nickname “Pee Wee” to many, but he was best known as “Paw” and “Poppaw”. He loved to “tinker” in the garage, he could fix anything with a motor. Harold loved helping his wife in the garden and was sure to always plant plenty tomatoes! In the fall, he loved to make apple butter, and corn cob back scratchers. Harold and Genevieve spent many Saturday nights at the “sing” held at the Chapel Community Building. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be terribly missed by the many people who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory, are his sons; Bill Moore (Jeanie), Bob Moore (Donna); daughter, Pam Mohr (Kenny); grandchildren, Melissa Mick (Chad), Adam Mohr (Julie), Daniel Moore (Tiffany), Sara Wayne (John); great grandchildren, Hannah Mick White (Josh), Matt Mick, Whittley Mohr, Kalab and Michael Wayne, Grace, JoyAnna, and Faith Moore; great-great grandson, Brantley White, and expecting great-great grandson due in August.
