Marvin Allen Rose, 78, of Birch River, WV went to be with the Lord in his home with his wife by his side on Monday, May 20, 2024, after an extended illness.

He was born July 25, 1945, to the late Sherman and Myrtle Cutlip Rose.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Dawn (Rose) Riffle.

Marvin enjoyed his weekly visits to the Braxton County Senior Center where he played music and sang with his friends. He loved living on the family farm and enjoyed the beauty of God’s creation of wildlife, and sunrises and sunsets. He served his community in law enforcement for the towns of Sutton and Gassaway and as a deputy in the Braxton County Sheriff’s Department. He never met a stranger and was well loved by many. He always had a hug to give and a story to share with anyone who would listen. Marvin loved his family and his God and was very proud of his three girls, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

He was loved and will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Dottie (Perkins) Rose; his daughters, Shelly Lavender and Paula Frame (Rusty); his grandchildren, Travis Wilson, Amber Lahaie, Dustin Frame (Shawna), Justin Frame (Serena) and Miranda Riffle; great grandchildren, Kaileigh, Brendon, Kyser, Rylin and Dakota; and his younger brother, Alvin Rose (Dreama).
