Brenda Hickman was born on the 21st day of September, 1942 in Widen, WV. She went peacefully to our Lord on the 6th day of August, 2023 at Braxton County Health Care Center in Sutton, WV.

She was a Gassaway High School graduate. She went on to complete her teaching degree from Glenville State College. After college she went back to Braxton County High School to work as a Physical Education teacher. She also worked at the Gassaway Public Library. She was an avid reader and cross stitcher. She loved the history of West Virginia and taking care of cats.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Brentford and Roncy (Jones) Hickman.

She is survived by her cat, Ms. Marple; and many loving family and friends.

Special thanks to the staff at Braxton County Health Care Center, MICU staff at Ruby Memorial, and WV Caring (Hospice) for all the wonderful care given to Brenda.

In keeping with Brenda’s wishes she will be cremated and there will be no services.
