Larry’s visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M Friday, November 18, 2022, at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.

His funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday, November 19th at Rosedale Baptist Church with Elder Larry Fisher and Pastor Lester Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in the Mill Fork Cemetery, Rosedale.

The family would like to give special thanks to Amy Summers, Becky McCoy, and the rest of Kanawha HospiceCare for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank Roach Funeral Home for their compassion as well.

Reverend Larry Ray Bennett, 73, of Rosedale, WV went home to see his Savior, November 14, 2022, at his home surrounded by family after his strong stand against liver cancer.

He was born March 2, 1949, in Chloe, WV to the late Gene and Maxine Bennett.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his first love, B. Rosalea (Marks) Bennett; brother, Danny McCumbers; stepdaughter, Kelly Dewitt; in-laws, Curt and Lucy Marks; and grandparents who raised him, Eustace and Rose Bennett.

Larry was a hardworking, funny, quick-witted and loving Christian man. He loved the Lord and his family, loved to sing his gospel songs, and was known for trading his vehicles and guns routinely. He was a retired bus driver and custodian for Braxton County Schools and worked the oil rigs for many years. Larry preached the Word of God for many years at multiple churches and revivals. He was a 1968 graduate of the old Gassaway High School.

He is survived by his second love, Susan Ann (Crislip) Bennett; daughter, Melinda Johnson(Jeff); son, Ernie Bennett(Amanda); step-daughter, Rebekah Davis; his grandchildren, Hayden Bailey(Morgan), Chase Bailey(Maddy), Logan Bennett, and Novalee Bennett; step-grandchildren, Dillon Crislip and Joshua Dewitt; his great granddaughters, Rosalea Bailey and Millie Bailey; step-great grandchildren, Griffin Crislip and Valor Crislip; his brothers, Doyle and Marvin Bennett; sister, Nina Cook; and a host of nieces and nephews.
