Visitation will be held at the Richard M. Roach Funeral Home in Gassaway, WV on April 7, 2016 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and April 8, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Services will be held at the funeral home and begin at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Ron Acord and Pastor Billy Carr officiating. Interment will follow at the Lloydsville Cemetery in Exchange, WV.

In lieu of flowers, if you prefer, the family requests memorial donations be made to a youth focused organization of your choice in memory of Gary Wolford.

Gary Wayne Wolford, 77, of Exchange, West Virginia passed away peacefully with family at his side on April 4, 2016. Gary was born on March 28, 1939 in Bergoo, West Virginia. Gary was a graduate of Webster County High School and attended Glenville State College. His first job was teaching at Dry Bread, a one room school house in Webster County. He later went to work for Monongahela Power Company, where he was employed as an electrician for 33 years.

Gary had a great love of God, family, farming, community, and local youth organizations. He was devoted to enriching the lives of the youth in the community and always lending a helping hand to others. He was an eight year Director of the Board for West Virginia Farm Credit, Past President of the Braxton County Farm Bureau, an Honorary Member of the Braxton County FFA Chapter, a past member of the local FSA County Committee, and a long time Member and Trustee of the Lloydsville United Methodist Church. He was one of the founding organizers and leaders of the Middle Fork Pioneers 4-H Club, and was a West Virginia 4-H All-Star.

Gary is survived by Naomi Loyd Wolford, his beloved wife of 51 years. They were married in Braxton County on October 23, 1964 and continued to reside and be leaders within the community. He is survived by son, Isaac and wife, Susan of Morgantown, WV, son, Matthew and wife, Monica of Exchange, WV; daughter, Sarah Wolford Shelton and husband, David of Spotsylvania, VA; nine grandchildren, Tess Wolford, Owen Wolford, Taylor Wolford, Logan Wolford, Levi Wolford, Mason Wolford, Loyd Shelton, Lilly Shelton, and Allison Shelton; Sisters; Sharon Selman of Cowen, WV, Margie Howe of Hatfield, PA, Teresa Bacon of Durham, North Carolina; a special Aunt and friend, Betty Ann Lashley of Cowen, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Clema Wolford, his Uncle, Fred (Teddy) Wolford, his mother, Esther Rose and his brother, Thomas Rose.
