Eula Dean Young, 95, of Glendon, WV, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in Elkins, WV following a short illness.

She was born on October 23, 1925 in Strange Creek, the daughter of the late Emory Dean and Blanche Chapman Dean.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Ernest Young; son, Robert Young; son-in-laws, David Pingley, Vincent Zummo and Gary Kitts; grandsons, Vinnie Zummo and Mark Plum; granddaughter Kelly James Zummo ; Everett (Chip) Dean, Ernest (Ernie) Dean, and Glen Dean; and sisters, Prudence (Prude) Lambert and Eva Lowery.

Eula graduated from Gassaway High School in 1947 and married Ernest Young on January 28, 1948. Eula worked in several places in and around Braxton County during her life. She enjoyed her family, working, and being with people. She was a member of the Gassaway Baptist Church, Red Hat Society, the Spruce Grove CEO’s, and was a former Braxton County Belle. She loved playing bingo and traveling. She didn’t care where or when; she always had her bags packed and was ready to go. Even when she returned from a trip she sometimes would forget where all she’d been, but she always had a wonderful time and was ready to go again. She was an excellent cook and a wonderful pie maker. She would make her delicious pies to raise money for different charities.

She is survived by son, Ray Young, and wife, Patricia, of Jacksonville, NC; daughters, Connie Zummo Pingley of Elkins, WV, Brenda Friend and husband, Dan, of Vincent, OH; daughter-in-law, Janis Young of Glendon, WV; sisters, Beulah Prince of Largo, FL and Jean Dancy and husband, Charles, of Dille, WV; sister-in-law, Mabel Kinder and her daughter, Pam Porter of Tampa, FL; and sister-in-law, Carla Dean of Ravenswood, WV; grandchildren, Kenneth Young and wife, Amanda, of Glendon WV, Maegan Brusaw, and husband, Chris, of Jacksonville, NC, Krystal Norris and husband, Jonathan, of Jacksonville, NC, Allison Rolland of Jacksonville, NC, Drew Pingley and finance, Denae, of Morgantown, WV, Tim Pingley and wife, Jackie, of Parkersburg, WV, Kathy Gaddy and husband, Chris, of Chester, SC. Mandy Young of New Jersey, Shauna Edwards and husband, Mark, of Avondale, WV, Dillon Young of Flatwoods, WV, Katie and Christy of Wiltrout, PA, Stacey Leber and husband, Eric, of Martinsburg, WV, Dan (Jake) Friend and wife, Star, of Winchester, VA, and Jonathan (Jon) Kitts and wife, Angie, of Amesville, OH.

Eula is also survived by her great grandchildren; Wyatt, Garrett, Alyssa, Olivia, Lucas, Eva, Julia, Piper, Ireland, Eden, Canon, Keira, Ava, Emma, Gabe, Dominic, Mason, Zoe, Katie, Noah, Coby, Brianna, Stacey, Amber, Eric, Zaylee, Evan, Ryan, Oliver, Annabelle, Hayden, and Gavin and several nieces and nephews.

She touched so many people with her kindness and generosity and left us all with so many wonderful memories. She will be forever missed.

Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.
