Shirley Maxine Miller, 79, of Rosedale passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV.

She was born August 21, 1941 in Weston, WV to the late Carl Bernard and Zelphia Filoma Smith Bateman.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Gene Miller, who passed away in 1996; brother, Bernard Bateman; and grandson, Joey Miller.

Shirley spent much time being a caregiver for others.  She loved listening to music and worked at the Braxton County Jamboree.  She enjoyed bowling with her league and spending time with her special friends.  She was the salt of the earth and she gave to others in her life.  She was a member and the Treasurer at Rosedale Methodist Church.

She will be forever remembered by her sons, Dennis Miller and wife, Sue, of Melbourne, FL, Philip Miller and wife, Joanne, of Gassaway, and Bobby Miller and wife, Fawn, of Gassaway; daughters, Debbie Miller Barnes and husband, Glen, of Vero Beach, FL, and Rachelle “Pooh” Furby and companion, Tim Jarvis, of Rosedale; daughter in laws, Dona Miller and Linda Mick; 11 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Shirley left an impression of goodness upon the world and the community she thrived in.

Graveside service will be 3 P.M. Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Miller Family Cemetery, Rosedale with Pastor Amy Lane Morrow officiating.
