Matthew’s funeral service will be 1 P.M. Monday, June 21, 2021 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Bill Morlan officiating.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment with military graveside rites will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to a Veran’s program of your choice.

Matthew Sean Hall, 44, of Gassaway passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at WVU United Hospital Center, Bridgeport.

He was born August 25, 1976 in Buckhannon, WV to Gwendolyn “Patty” Rose Hall of Sutton and the late Charles Stephen Hall.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Evelyn Richie Hall and Arle Hall; and maternal grandmother, Millie Sattler Dorsey.

Matthew attended Braxton County High School.  He later joined the United States Air Force where he was a Senior Airman E4. He served from March 1997 till December 2004.  While Matthew was in the military he served tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait and was also stationed several places throughout the US.  He was a student at Marshall University, Huntington.  A Christian by faith, Matthew was a member of Gassaway Baptist Church.  He liked to travel and also enjoyed his friends and family.

In addition to his mother, Patty, he is survived by his brother, Lawrence “Bub” Hall of Sutton; sisters, Samantha Kniceley and husband, Herb, of Duck, Suzanne Hamrick of Gassaway; niece, Ruby Kniceley of Morgantown; nephews, Dakota Hamrick of Clarksburg, Chance McTaggart of Gassaway, and Lucas Hall of Sutton; and one great niece, Avaya.
