Burial Date October 23, 2015

Service will be 11am Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Cutlip’s Baptist Church, Exchange with Pastor David Gunter officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Cutlip’s Cemetery, Exchange.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 pm Thursday, October 22 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.

A dinner will follow at the Chapel Fire Department after the burial. All are invited and welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Lowell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Cutlip’s Baptist Church, 8627 Exchange Road, Exchange, WV 26619.

Lowell Stanton Cutlip, 75, passed away on Sunday morning, October 18, 2015, at his home in Exchange, West Virginia.

Born and raised in the same home, Lowell was a lifelong farmer. After graduating from Gassaway High School, he attended Glenville State College for a short time and then served for 2 years in the US Army. He retired from the CSX Railroad and was a bus driver for Braxton County Schools until he also retired from there. Lowell was a member of the Cutlip’s Baptist Church of Exchange and he was active in the Farm Bureau for many years. Lowell and his wife, Sue Cutlip, celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on September 25, 2015.

Lowell was very proud of his 6 children and his grandchildren: George Cutlip of Fairmont, WV; Maria Cutlip of Exchange, WV; Carla and Bill Nelson and their children, Samantha and Fox, of Charleston, WV; Eric and Deana Cutlip and their children, Austin and Reese, of Sissonville, WV; Mark Cutlip and Misty Farley and their children, Mason, Daulton, Elijah, Madison and Ryan of Nitro, WV; and, Lowell Justin Cutlip and Bobbi Jo Nicholas and their children, Ethan and Tyler and one on the way, of Exchange, WV. Lowell loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed his visits with them.

Lowell is survived by his sisters: Frankie and husband Clyde Morehead, of Annapolis, MD; Pat and husband Aubin Lovin, of Parrotsville, TN; Lillian Haymond of Springfield, VA; Francis and husband Doyal Sears, of Mansfield, OH; and Phyllis Reed, of Blissfield, OH. Lowell was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Dacil Cutlip, of Exchange, WV and his sister, Joan Sumner, of Wayne, MI. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews and their spouses and children as well as multiple cousins and his Aunt Macil Dobbins (99) of Chapel, WV.
