Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Harry Jacob Hinkel, Jr. passed away early Thursday morning on January 9, 2020 in his home in Exchange, West Virginia, surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Harry Jacob Hinkel, Sr. and Dorthy Jane Hall. He was preceded in death also by his sister, Hazel “Jane” Arneal. Harry served 4 years in the United States Navy and retired from Prudential Insurance Company after 29 years. He attended Community Cross Church of the Nazarene in California on an extended visit, meeting new friends and attending a Men’s Bible Study. He always enjoyed building model Clipper Ships, playing chess, and being an avid NFL fan. In his retirement years he enjoyed working in the garden, continuing his ship model building including all kinds of military and car models. However his biggest enjoyment was his family and rearing grandchildren when needed. He will be remembered for bringing a smile to you forever telling a corny joke or two or three, often times not being able to finish his own joke without laughing at himself. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Bonnie Barnett Hinkel, of nearly 63 years; daughter, Cynthia Hinkel Grensavitch and her spouse, Donald; grandson, Brian; granddaughters, Amber and Angela Grensavitch; daughter, Bonnie Jean Hinkel MacKamul, and her spouse, Jeffery; granddaughters, Kimberly and Rebekah MacKamul; son, Harry Jacob Hinkel III, and his spouse, Kim; granddaughter, Brittanne Baldenegro, Suzanne Throckmorton, Bernadette M. Waddill, Lindsey Haggart, Breanna Hinkel, grandsons, Harry Jacob Hinkel IV, Christopher Violette, Brandon J. Hinkel and Jeremy Hinkel; 11 great grandchildren plus one on the way.
