Funeral Service will be 2 P.M. Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the Old German Community Church with Pastor Rick Hart officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

In keeping with Lila’s wishes, she will be cremated following services.

Lila Jean Nicholas Blose, nee Gordy, 80, passed away on December 14, 2019 in Glenville, West Virginia.

Lila was born to Thomas Anderson and Mabel Neoma Kinney Gordy on August 19, 1939 in Luray, Missouri.  She graduated from Granger, High School in 1957.  She attended GEM City Business College in Quincy, Illinois before taking a job as a bank teller in Denver, Colorado.

While in Denver, Lila met Ernest, “Nick”, Nicholas, marrying him on October 16, 1960.  They made their home on Benders Fork Road outside of Gassaway, West Virginia. Lila began working for the Department of Health and Human Services and stayed an employee there until her retirement. Lila became a member of The Old German Church on Chapel Road in 2001.

After Nick’s death, Lila met and married Howard Blose on May 16, 2015. Howard died shortly thereafter but Lila remained on Benders Fork Road.

Lila is survived by 2 brothers, Loyd Gordy and wife Louise, and Lowell Gordy and wife Linda, both of Arbela, Missouri; 2 sisters and 1 sister-in-law, Doris Everhart and husband Bill of Carpentersville, Illinois, Betty Capps of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Inge Gordy of Austell, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 4 brothers, Melvin, Alvin, Paul, and Harold, and 1 sister, Opal.

Lila was loved by many and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
