James William “Jim” Starcher, 79, of Flatwoods, passed away on December 02, 2019 at home after a long illness.

Jim was born on July 27, 1940 in Gassaway to Roland and Mae (Rollyson) Starcher, who preceded him in death.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn; two sons, Jay and Scott; and his two brothers, Larry and Ronnie.

Jim was retired from Chrysler Corporation in Ohio after 33 years of service.  He was a Baptist by faith and was a member of the Elk River Baptist Church in Frametown.  He loved playing music with his friends.  He played at the Braxton County Senior Center.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Gloria; daughter, Cheryl (Bob) Simpson, of Norton, Ohio; sisters, Bobbi Faber of Gassaway and Joy Ellison of Lorain, Ohio.  Jim is survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 P.M. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Brace Cook and Pastor Jason Allen officiating.  Interment will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday, December 6^th at the funeral home.
