Ronnie Lee Howard, 81, of Gassaway, passed away July 22, 2019 at home.

He was born April 20, 1938 in Covington, VA a son of the late Samuel and Dallas Trent Howard.

He was a coal miner for several coal companies.  He was a past member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Gassaway and his spiritual journey continued until his death.  He enjoyed working in his garden and blackberry patch.  He enjoyed being outside and loved the company of all animals, including his cats and dog.

Twice married, first to Ona Janette Williams who preceded him in death and then to Joann McKenzie who also preceded him in death.

Ronnie is survived by son, Shawn Howard and wife, Tracy of Nashville, TN; stepdaughter, Sandra Lawson and husband, Patrick of Wayne, WV; step granddaughters, Kara Oney and husband, Kris of Wayne, WV and Cheyanne Arthur and husband, David of Wayne, WV; four step great grandchildren; nieces, Michelle Dubovsky of Gillette, WY and Leslie Tray of Florida; nephew, Jacob Gadrow of Gillette, WY; sisters, Linda Underwood and husband, Ned of Mt. Hope, WV and Dianna Liller and husband, Doug of Gillette, WY.

In keeping with his wishes, Ronnie was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
