Obituaries » David “Bruce” Reichard April 16, 1954 - June 4, 2019 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends David “Bruce” Reichard, 65, of Strange Creek, formerly of Pax, passed away on June 4, 2019 at home surrounded by family. He was born April 16, 1954 in Hinton, a son of the late Albert Edward Reichard and Lellia Rose Reichard. For most of Bruce’s life he was a truck driver. He was an owner and operator for Q Carriers. He also drove a mobile lithotripsy unit for Executive Medical Enterprises (EME) which provided services to those who were having kidney stones and would need them to broken up in smaller pieces so they could be passed. He was a coal miner for a while. Bruce served his country in Vietnam in the Army. He also boxed on the Army’s boxing team. Bruce was a member of Laurel Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He loved fishing and camping. He loved his family dearly. Some described him as a gentle giant. In addition to his parents Bruce was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Reichard, Edward Reichard, and Stewart Reichard; and sister, Nancy Jones. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Frances; sons, Rodney Toney and wife, Jennifer of Dothan, Justin Toney of Strange Creek; sisters, Jewell Bragg and husband, Jon of Pluto and Brenda Armstrong of Beckley; grandchildren; Amber Hudson and husband Eric, Tristan Toney and girlfriend, Sarah, Kaleb Toney and Jeremiah Toney; one great granddaughter, Savanah Hudson; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Bruce’s wishes he will be cremated. Two memorial services will be held. The first memorial service will be held 1 to 3 P.M. Friday, June 7, 2019 at Laurel Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pax. The second memorial service will be 3 P.M. Saturday, June 8 at Mount Olive Church, Strange Creek with Military Rites, Joe Bob Truman, officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be two hours prior to service at Mount Olive Church.
