Jimmie M. Jenkins, 88, died May 31, 2019, with his wife, Mary by his side at Genesis Healthcare in Glenville, WV.

He was born January 28, 1931 in Braxton County, WV to Rastus and Nida Jenkins.

On September 4, 1954 he was united in marriage to Mary Mowery and they raised their family in Perkins, WV on a farm very dear to both of their hearts.

Jimmie owned his own sawmill and little made him happier than being on a dozer bringing logs off a haul road on the beautiful mountainside.

He was well known for his molasses making skills and enjoyed gathering with friends and family every fall to create delicious memories.

Jimmie spent many weekends in Chapel and Frametown, WV where he worked during their nightly sings. It still brought a smile to his face to visit chapel and have a hot dog in later years.

Jimmie also found great pleasure in playing dominos and bingo with the many friends he had made at the Glenville Center.

In addition to his wife, Mary, Jimmie is survived by his children, Charlie (Odie) Jenkins of Fairview, WV, Barb (James) Hacker of Normantown, WV, Debra Brown, Ellen Cappellety of St. Petersburg, FL, Patricia Layman of Moorefield, WV, Robert Jenkins of Watertown, SD, Roger (Kristin) Jenkins of Roseville, OH, David (Chrystal) Jenkins of Ripley, WV, Tommy (Kim) Jenkins of Glenville, WV, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren , 2 great-great grandchildren, and friends and family.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Hazel Admire.

Funeral service will be 11 A.M.  Monday, June 3, 2019 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Elder Mark Minney officiating.  Interment will be in the Oak Grove Church Cemetery, Perkins.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 P.M. Sunday, June 2 at the funeral home.
