Glenda “Gale” Demastus, 77, of Sutton, died April 23, 2019 at Braxton County Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family.

She was born February 7, 1942 in Dudley, Missouri, a daughter of the late Floyd Stephens and Lillian Majors Stephens.

Gale was a homemaker and mother of five children.  She enjoyed watching television and the Hallmark movie channel. She would often mute the commercials when she was watching.  Christmas was her favorite holiday.  She also liked to work the word search puzzles.  She was a devout Baptist of Christian faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Harold Demastus; brother, Paul Stephens; and sister, Rita Gene Vanderpool.

Gale is survived by her sons, Christopher “Mark” Demastus and wife, Debbie of Boulder, Colorado, John Daniel Demastus of Gilmer, Texas, and Ryan Neil Demastus of Tyler, Texas; daughters, Virginia Gale Ferguson and husband, HD of Gladewater, Texas, and Karen Wynes of Lynchburg, Virginia; brother, Richard Stephens and wife, Marlene of Alboin, Washington; and sister, Kimberly Ann Wyatt of Sutton, five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
