Obituaries » Delvin Wesley Dobbins January 9, 1927 - April 21, 2019 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Delvin Wesley Dobbins, 92, of Crooked Fork, passed away Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Delvin was born January 9, 1927 in Braxton County, a son of the late Lele Edwin and Jennie Cunningham Dobbins. For most of his life he worked as a heavy equipment operator, mechanic, and road construction builder. Delvin was a road paver on Interstate 79 when it was first built. He worked all the way from New York State to Georgia doing jobs for road construction companies. Delvin retired from Operating Engineers. He was a Sunday school teacher and Deacon at both Crooked Fork Baptist Church and Oak Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents Delvin was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Pauline Duelley Dobbins, who died in 2008; son, Delvin Glenn Dobbins; daughter, Dacie Elaine Dobbins; and sister, Emolene Rose. Delvin is survived by brothers, Melvin G. Dobbins and wife, Joan and Elvin Dobbins both of Oberlin, Ohio; sisters, Josephine Burns and husband, William F. of Wellington, Ohio, Evelyn Gum, Evelene Rexroad and Wavelene Jenkins all of Gassaway; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Roger Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Crooked Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, April 24, at the funeral home.
